Inside Out (7th-12th Grade)

Inside Out Touchy, Touchy! Thursday, March 18  7^th–12^th grade class 12:30pm – 2:00pm AMNH Classroom Registration Deadline: Thursday, March 11   Survival in the animal kingdom is highly dependent on the ability to perceive and sense any stimulus or changes in the environment. The sense of touch plays a very important role in this ability and animals have specific adaptations that allow them to use this sense in unique ways.   How are we designed to feel pressure, heat, texture, and pain? Did you know that your tactile sensitivity is not the same all over your body or that some animals have a super-sensitive touch sense? Learn the answers to these questions and discover the animals with tactile superpowers through discussion, activities, and experiments.   Limited spots are available. Adults who would like to participate in the class can register and pay the class fee for their own slot (if available).   Inside out is $8 for non-members and $5 for members; cost does not include admission to exhibit halls. Pre-registration is required by calling 256-237-6766 or online via www.ExploreAMAG.org.   Anniston Museums and Gardens is following the State of Alabama’s Safer at Home ordinance. Masks are required for entry. Program seats are limited and social distancing is enforced between households. See program details to confirm if program requires pre-registration.
