Cucurbitaceae, the squash family, is widely known for vegetables such as cucumber and zucchini. There are also many Asian vegetables that belong to this family that grow well in Alabama, including bitter melon, luffa, and long squash. These vegetables are healthy, versatile, and delicious! Join us on Zoom for May’s Third Thursday to learn how to cultivate these unique vegetables with Urban Regional Extension Agent Mary Dixon.   AM&G Zooms require pre-registration by calling 256-237-6766 or online via www.annistonmuseum.com. Program is $5 per person and free for members. After registration, Zoom information will be emailed to registrant. Longleaf Botanical Gardens is open the third Thursday of the month for touring and plant sales from 10:00-5:00pm. Program is available via Zoom only.
