Introduction to Merlin Bird ID and eBird Apps
Join Alabama Audubon Program Coordinator Andrew Lydeard to cover the basics of using two of birding’s most popular mobile apps, Merlin Bird ID & eBird Mobile Apps. Andrew will dive into the basics of the Merlin Bird ID App, including downloading bird “packs”, using the field guide functions, and the best practices for using the ID functions to maximize your effectiveness in the field. Many of the expansive features of eBird will be covered in this workshop, including both the online and mobile versions, to help you explore new areas, find target birds, and view species’ distribution and trend maps. Useful for both beginning and seasoned birders, these apps can be used to enhance your birding experience and improve your knowledge, no matter where you go!
This program is $5 per person and free for AM&G members. Pre-registration is encouraged.
